ST. JOHNSBURY OSHER PROGRAM
SPRING SEMESTER 2010

St. Johnsbury, VT. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will launch the SPRING 2010 lecture series entitled “MASTERS AMONG US: Appreciating Our Local Artists.” The SPRING OSHER Series begins at Catamount Arts, Eastern Avenue, St. Johnsbury, on Thursday, March 25, 2010. The Spring Series will end on Thursday, May 20, 2010.

St. Johnsbury is one of several communities in Vermont to receive an Osher grant through the University of Vermont to establish a series of life-long learning events.

The lectures and discussions are similar to continuing education presentations at colleges and universities in content, but without textbooks, grades or papers. Lectures and presentations will begin at 1:30p.m. and last until 3:00p.m.

We invite you to join the St. Johnsbury Osher Institute for $40 per semester (9 sessions). Financial assistance is available.

There will be a FREE Member Appreciation Luncheon at Noon, in Catamount’s Cabaret, before the first lecture on Thursday, March 25th. Those returning their Membership Form before March 12th are eligible for the Free Luncheon, prepared by St. Johnsbury Academy Culinary Arts Students.

Membership for a semester allows a participant to attend all Osher programs offered in St. Johnsbury as well as those offered in Brattleboro, Montpelier, Rutland, Springfield, Newport-Derby, Lamoille, and St. Albans. Membership entitles you to bring a guest to one lecture. Alternatively, it is possible to attend individual sessions for a fee of $5.00.

The first St. Johnsbury Osher Institute program for the Spring 2010 semester will be held on Thursday, March 25th, at Catamount Arts, Eastern Avenue, St. Johnsbury, VT - “A Select History of the Five String Banjo Styles” with Sal Demaio.
