St. Johnsbury Academy music teachers Alan Rowe and Janet Edmondson will be conducting an 8-day instrumental music program for students who are entering grades 7, 8, or 9 (in the 2014-15 academic year) and who have successfully completed at least one year of instrumental instruction on a band instrument (woodwinds, brass, percussion).
This program is designed to provide rhythm practice, teach specific technical exercises, and build ensemble skills for intermediate and advanced band students. In full band and small groups, students will be challenged to improve their playing skills during the program, and motivated to maintain good practice habits over the summer. It is also a great opportunity for students from area schools to meet and work with others with whom they will potentially play in high school or district festival instrumental ensembles.
- Cost per student is $150 (2-1/2 hours of instruction per day for 8 days, includes lesson materials)
- All classes held in the music room in the Morse Center for the Arts at St. Johnsbury Academy
